Ocarina of Time is often heralded as one of history's greatest games. But before Ocarina - before the N64, even - there was a precursor that wowed Super Nintendo players worldwide. Nintendo's most successful series would never be what it has become today without the classic threequel to the original Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Along with The Minish Cap, this was my first experience with the timeless legend about the princess(es) and the boy(s) in the green cap. Everything that could be expected from a top-down adventure is here: Grand setting, magic, multiple worlds, dungeon crawling, fetch quests, the reach for a higher power, and best of all, hours and hours of optional endeavors, all of which are entertaining and worthwhile.
