For anyone who wants to 100% the Spring Cleaning tasks without downloading all the games:
Look through your Steam game folders and find one with a steam_appid.txt. Garry's Mod is what I used.
Edit that txt to contain the appid of the game you want. For example, Assassin's Creed's is 15100, because its store url is https://store.steampowered.com/app/15100/ .
Run the game's executable file from within its folder, not directly through Steam. There, now Steam thinks you were running a different game. The txt should reset automatically after you're done.
