A look at the album cover and title as well as the artist’s name of this one will probably invoke some sort of idea or expectation of what the sound might be, and if you’re like me then The Twilight Sad’s 2014 album, Nobody Wants to Be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave, will be exactly what you where expecting.

The Twilight Sad is a indie rock with some influences from shoegaze and new wave, hailing from Scotland, as you’d figure out by the accent on this one, formed in 2003 and who released their first album in 2007.

This album is a mellow experience, of course, ghostly vocals sing over soft melodies, making this one perfect for those lonely nights… You know the ones.

The entire album is great, but I think the titular song, which I’m not gonna name because it’s giant, and the amazing “Drown so I Can Watch” and the strongest points of the record. They make me want to grab a microphone and sing my pains away.

I really recommend people to check out this album, it’s an intense experience in all it’s sadness, but I think in the end it’ll leave you happier than before for having experienced it.
