At The Drive In evolved the hardcore rock sound for the emo punk movement. They were easily the edgiest band on the airwaves. They only had one really big single, but it was the single that turned everyone's heads. It had screaming, changing time signatures and loud guitars. Even if the band broke up soon after Relationship of Command came out, their concerts at this time were legendary for their high-octane, incendiary energy.
