Damon Gough's first album was a godsend for the indie rock community. It caught the artist in his most eclectic moments, combining alternative rock, funk and hip-hop beats in a lighthearted way that only he could do. His follow-ups would expand those ideas into epic, story-based albums. However, his best material came out in this debut, when he wasn't too worried about the direction of the narrative.
