Okay, so like, I haven't really had anything to do with games since January. Did I miss anything major? I know the Nintendo Switch released and there is a WWII Call of Duty coming, but apart from that I haven't got a clue what's been happening in the world of gaming. It only just occurred to me that E3 is next month. I really need to get back into the hobby :( Gaming used to be my main thing. Please don't tell me it's over :'( All my irl gamer friends aren't around much anymore, and all the Favslist gamers have either vanished, or rarely post. There are only a couple of you guys left :( I haven't chatted to anyone in real life about games since before Christmas. I'm actually quite sad about that. Where did all the gamers go? :(

Editing … That's interesting. I'm neck deep in games this year. I'm still chipping away at Persona 5 and Zelda BotW. I still have Yakuza 0, Nier Automata, The Nonary Games, and Mass Effect Andromeda in my backlog; and then I still want to go back and get Resident Evil 7, Gravity Rush 2, Horizon, and Nioh. I think I'm already good to go for the year as I didn't even mind another delay to the new South Park game.

Editing … I'm nowhere near as excited for gaming now as when I was a kid, but I still love playing and talking about them (creating a gaming show is still my main goal). Lately i've been playing #Nioh, and it's so good. I wish I bought this game at launch, because...damn it's good! I feel its a better Dark Souls III than the actual Dark Souls III xD And 2017 already had a serious candidate for greatest game ever made, so it's a pretty good time to be a gamer right now.

Editing … I'm very much the opposite, actually: For a while around 2011-2013 I was struggling to stay motivated to play new games and fell into a serious rut, but then the next couple years after that went much better, before last year ended up being a total off year in many ways, and now this year my energy and excitement for gaming feels like it's hit an all time high. I've been loving pretty much every new game I've played, with stuff like Tales of Berseria, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Persona 5 all easily being up to par with some of all time favorites. Looks like I'm about to hit a slow point in the next few months, but that's fine because it'll allow me to work on my backlog for a bit.

Editing … I'm mostly playing 2-4 yr old games (if not older ones), so don't ask me about the newest and hottest. Also, I unfortunately find myself watching more Let's Plays instead of playing games myself, so … that's weird. But yeah … I miss you guys, too.

Editing … All my college friends ever talk about is Persona 5. I think everyone was literally living under a rock before Persona 5 came out. Now all I hear is Persona, Persona, Persona. Oh and there's some Final Fantasy 15 game that has DLC with actual substance. Oh and Persona.

Editing … Personally this year so far has shown a lot of positive trends I'm glad to see. I've so far only played Persona 5, Horizon and Yakuza 0 but I'd say they're all worth checking out. Like I've said previously, this is a huge year for exclusives, particularly for Sony, though Breath of the Wild's success can't be ignored. They give consoles an identity. I'm glad to finally see a few new AAA IPs like Nioh and Horizon. I find it cool that the three most critically acclaimed games this year, Zelda, Persona 5 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are all games originally built for a previous generation of consoles and they look it, but it doesn't really matter. It makes me hope that both devs and gaming audiences are moving away from chasing ever diminishing returns of insane over-budgeted graphical fidelity. Resident Evil of all things has managed to get back on track with a game that miraculously makes me curious to try VR. And we're barely more than a third of the way through the year. Hopefully these positive trends keep up.
