SpoilerIt looks pretty good and the different districts of Zootopia being different biomes was a neat idea that just screams for a tv show or something. Didn't care much for the slightly hamfisted message and the ridiculous reason for what was going on with the rabid animals though, wouldn't a plant that could make your population go nuts be a well known thing long before it is publically known in this film? I loved the cheetah though, what a guy.

Ranking as my 33rd favorite film. It's got gorgeous animation, smart dialogue, and a good pair of main characters. It can be surprisingly harsh, unlike some PG animated films I feel it earns its rating. And the themes are strong, it's a film that wants to improve humanity and not just be junk food, but it's well made enough to not be eye rolling and preachy. It's not very joke heavy, it's actually quite intense and searing, and I think it's the adults that get the most out of it. I do find it a bit over complicated for its length, it's a bit fast so not every twist and development had the impact it could've. Also, I found the sloths annoying. Overall, it impressed and moved me. I like not just the quality Disney has been putting out lately, but also the variety. Bolt, Frozen, and Zootopia are very different movies.

All the talk of how "progressive" and "pc" this movie was almost turned me off of watching it, to be honest. But I've been pretty bored with some of Disney's latest offerings (Frozen, Tangled), so I was ready to give the return of Disney's cute animal characters a chance. And I'm very glad I did. Although it did get a bit preachy at certain points, Zootopia was a consistently good movie throughout. Fantastic animation and art style, good characters, surprising amount of worldbuilding, and an entertaining narrative. I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. Good job Disney. Zootopia has joined Toy Story, Wreck-It-Ralph, and How to Train Your Dragon on the incredibly short list of CGI animated movies that I actually like. Props for the lead character too. One of the best characters Disney has created in awhile.

This is really cute, and clever movie. The main character is super likeable, and is probably one of the best characters Disney has made in a long time. The small details of the movie is what really makes me like it. I felt like the world is alive, and it would make sense counting in all of the factors. I am not a person who laughs at movies, but I chuckled 3-4 times at some of the stupid stuff like the fat cheetah's antics.

However the biggest problem is the message. It isn't because it is bad a message, but because of how much they shove it in your face around the end of the movie. Hell, the best scene of the movie is when Nick Wilde talks about why he became a hustler. It is a good little story about discrimination. It gets the message across without staring at the camera, and saying "LET'S OPPRESS THEM!"

I think that this is a movie that is extremely creative, and well made. If you want a cute kids movie that actually has something to say it is definitely worth a watch.

The fuck is wrong with you, two other people to score this? What, a movie posits "racism is bad" and you give it a terrible score? lol. This was so unrelentingly adorable, funny, imaginative, charming, beautifully animated, and even socially conscious and relevant. Like, I love animated Disney movies, but this was a very clear step above most of them. My absolute favorite is the fat Shakira (I mean Gazelle) fangirl cheetah who loves donuts. #relatable

Editing … I just learned Clawhauser is actually a guy. Not exactly surprised since I was kinda 50/50 on the gender the whole movie and just took a guess, lol. Still relate to him hardcore.

If you liked how progressive and liberal Frozen was then you'd absolutely love this. This movie is a lot more clever and well made than I expected and I really enjoyed it. :)

Editing … It's made by Disney (the same directors as Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph) and it's about the first rabbit police officer and it has a lot to say about racism, prejudices, racial profiling in law enforcement and ethnic minorities (represented by predators and prey). I think the adults who saw it in the theater I went to enjoyed it more than the kids. xD

I'll definitely watch it once it's out on Blu-ray :) (Disney, Pixar and sci-fi movies are the only ones I buy on Blu-ray from some reason, for everything else I still prefer dvds); But first I'll get Inside Out :)

Editing … I'm more excited for Zootopia than any movie in recent memory. The humor is sharp and the amount of subtle detail in the animation is staggering. The adorable fluffy nature of it all certainly doesn't hurt either. Watch the sloth trailer if you haven't for a better look at the intricate detail in one single scene.
