I tried to be objective with my rating, I genuinely enjoyed this game but realistically it is pretty bad. The game is stacked against you in every way possible as opponents have cards that are way more powerful than anything you can get yourself in the game, and whereas you're limited to whatever 5 random cards you draw from your 40-card deck and have to hope to god you draw good cards at the start of a duel, the AI opponents are able to use whatever cards they want from their deck at any time, so when they're pulling out 4500 ATK Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragons during their first turn and the best card you can get in the game is a 3500 ATK Meteor B Dragon, and by luck of the draw you didn't get any equip or spell cards that would help you deal with that Blue Eyes, and you get wrecked in just two turns as a result, it's a little bit on the unfair side. As well as that it doesn't follow the actual TCG rules and monster cards don't have effects, so ATK really is all that matters and using cards with lower ATK is entirely pointless. And on top of that even though it professes to have 750 cards in the game, a huge number of them are completely unobtainable and opponents never use them, so them being coded into the game is entirely pointless. But saying all that, I still had a lot of fun with it as a kid and still do because of my childhood attachment to it, collecting cards and trying to get really rare cards is fun, and the music is surprisingly good. I really like it but I don't expect many other people to.

This was at the top of my Christmas list in 2002 and as a fan of the show at the time it was great fun.
