After watching a few gameplay videos, I became very interested in this one. Dragon Quest VIII was a masterpiece, Ni No Kuni was brilliant, so let's see what Level-5 is gonna do with this game! :D

Editing … I do like the art style, but this very much seems like an RPG for the smartphone/social-gaming age. It sucks when a successful company is a shitty company. They had such a great run during the PS2 era, but they've mostly just been letting me down ever since. Oh well, I'm curious to see how much the console versions differ from the smartphone versions. If they have fully explorable 3D dungeons and an overworld, I could still be on-board with this.

Editing … How have they been letting you down? Ni No Kuni was brilliant, and Dragon Quest IX was great too. People say the Layton games are great as well...

Editing … I've only played the demo of Ni no Kuni PS3, but the DS version was just kind of bland, and I know that a lot of that game carried over to the PS3. DQ9 was great but it was no DQ8 (a tough act to follow I guess, given that it's my 2nd favorite game of all time). The Layton games just aren't my thing and I'm not a fan of annualized franchises like that. They literally had a new one every year with minimal changes. The Level-5 of today just isn't the same. They make most of their money off cross-media kids franchises like Inazuma Eleven and Little Battlers.
