Editing … We have rain every day it seems. This summer has been a write off. We get the odd day of 25+ degrees then rain. Back in the 80s the school holidays was 6 weeks of sun, it used to be reliable. But global waming and greta thunberg and all that I guess.

Editing … As a kid having more than three hot days in a row (>30°C) in summer were exeptional, now it is default. Getting two degree warmer in average than 40 years ago.

Editing … I don't remember the weather to be any different but then again I can't think back 40 years. In the 90s There were rainy summers there were hot summers. Not any hotter not any colder than now. It's just different every year. I think these was one summer in the 90s that was killing me. This year we started dry then extremely wet now dry again. Hopefully a little rain in a few weeks so I don't have to water that garden. This is really basic but this year I've really noticed that how warm it is, is so dependent on the clouds. When the sky is blue it's hot because the sun is a hot bitch of course, but when it's overcast the temperature drops 10 to 15 degrees. Even when a cloud passes over it goes from "this is nice" to "I need a jumper".

Editing … 80s summer were mostly wet here in comparision (remember listening a talk in ~1985 saying that), 90s ones went already slightly hotter until summer 2003 broke all records. Literally humilating any previous one due beeing over 1°C warmer than any measuring since 1761 in germany. According weather data in wikipedia this year is 6th place....

Editing … Recently read that reducing emissions of SO² (sulfourdioxid?) since 1990s increased warming in europe (0.4°C) due side effect of said gas to block energy of the sun in the atmosphere. Values for germany went from over 5m to 0.2 between 1990 and 2020 alone. Telling China and India to do the same it will be way higher effects as CO² (and methane) values will be in full effect then.
