It's almost like watching two completely different TV shows. The stuff that Lynch did (eg. the pilot, that episode with the dream where they talk backwards, the final episode which is dark as f***) is totally amazing whereas the rest... eh. Meh. Soap opera. Still, the Lynch-penned and directed stuff does make it my favourite TV show of all-time, notwithstanding that it totally knocked my socks off when I first saw it in the early 90s.
