In terms of keeping with the theme of Tron: Legacy, the graphics do the job well but the layout of the levels feel unnecessary. Pathways that take you outside of buildings exist for no reason other than to be used as part of the parkour traversal mechanic. The parkour feels fluid at some moments but falters A LOT and is the worst part of the game, dragging the whole thing down since most of your time is spent moving from one arena section to another. Most of your deaths will come at the fault of a button press that the game doesn't respond to or even being just an inch off from making a certain jump. The combat fairs no better with the action being segmented between the traversal corridors. While you may be able to stream combos perfectly you're unable to stop movement if you need to block an enemy's attack. It LOOKS smooth but feels clunky when being used. You'll often find yourself surrounded by four or more enemies and pulling off special attacks will be the only way to break them up. The music is inspired by the Daft Punk soundtrack from the movie but its very clearly not them, it reminds you of this by playing a few of the songs straight from the soundtrack. Its awfully "hand-holdy" and keeps cutting away after combat to show you an enemy entering the arena or where you're supposed to go next, its also forgiving with a lot of checkpoints that take you back only a little ways after each death. On top of all these complications, the camera is actively working against the player to prevent decent angles. The voice acting does little to up the quality even with some of the stars returning to voice their characters, the vocals and animations are animatronic. I love the Tron universe and really wanted to enjoy this game but I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone. It may be fun to run around The Grid but when its presented like this I'd rather stay in the real world.
