Played the demo. Players of the 2D platformer "Trine" choose between three characters with different abilities – I mean, you can change between them at will. The wizard lets objects float and can create a box out of thin air, which you need for traversal and puzzles; the knight can fight, destroy and defend; and the thief is my personal favorite, even if her abilities are "merely" bow+arrow and a grappling hook. But "Spider-Man 2" on the PS2 already showed: swinging is fun!

Very nice platformer. While I'm usually not a big fan of puzzles in platformers, especially physics-based ones, it's never too tough or so finicky you get frustrated. Switching between characters and their unique abilities gives you a nice variety of styles to play. While I do wish it was a little longer this is definitely one of the most polished download games I've played in awhile.

It's a solid game, but honestly the story is so generic, and I wish the game would have ended a couple hours sooner, it just started to drag towards the end. It is beautiful though, but I don't think some things were implemented very well. For one, with both the controller and mouse it was hard to get the game to register that you were in fact trying to draw a square or triangle. I switched to keyboard/mouse thinking it would be easier but it's not. You're also fighting the same enemies for the entire game, and it just starts to wear down after a while. I really love the one main song that plays in the title screen and at certain other times, it's beautiful. So, it's a good game and just about worth the $2.50 I paid for it.

Incredible, beautiful, innovative and interesting. If you love platformers and puzzles, this is your game. Unfortunately it doesn't works so well with the keyboard + mouse combo.

Trine looks simply gorgeous, with colourful and varied aesthetics a plenty! The story is pretty cliché, but the three protagonists are each fun and memorable, even if they're one dimensional in nature. Each character has a unique set of abilities, and the levels are designed so that multiple solutions are available for each obstacle by using different combinations of abilities - a concept which is rarely applied properly in modern game design. The soundtrack is mostly pretty average, but the main theme specifically is brilliant, evoking a real sense of grandiose adventure!
