While it is not as charming as its predecessor and even though the heavier focus on story didn't quite work out for the single player you can't deny that this game improved on the already amazing multiplayer from Timesplitters 2 and made it an endless source of wacky fun, add in the mapmaker and you have even more longevity.

"Time to Split!" Lame catchphrase aside, Cortez is awesome; and so is his game.

I liked the map editor and the game was random enough to keep me interested throughout.

From a technical standpoint this game should be better than it's prequel, and while it's a fantastic game TimeSplitters 2 is much better. The emphasis on story in this game didn't work. There were funny moments and great characters, but previous TS games took the story lightly with a minute of cinematic per level, which worked. This change to a 'real story' was for the worse. I also found the level design to be far less varied. TS2 has moments where you'd be inside an alien saucer and then on a Siberian damn. Future Perfect seemed to be far more outside (possibly because of the unnecessary vehicle sections) and didn't have any heart-beating isolated moments. Apart from these issues, it does what TS2 does, making it decent.
