It's the journey and not the destination that's important. Everything leading up to the ending of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was superb, but the polarizing ending cheapened the game for me. However, the ending might elevate the whole experience for others. Regardless of how you end up feeling about the ending, this beautifully dark trip is well worth taking.
Pros: Wonderfully eerie and immersive atmosphere, gorgeous music, great graphics and map design, the free-form nature of approaching tasks and exploration is brilliant, simple yet rewarding puzzles elevate it above simple ''walking simulators'', great story
Cons: Ending will not be everyone's cup of tea, some unnecessary invisible walls, somewhat sluggish performance, writing could've been better as could character animations and voice acting

    Jfc, I'm lost.
There aren't many walking simulators I enjoy, and Vanishing of Ethan Carter so far isn't one of them.

Imma have to restart, I reckon

Editing … At least this one adds a couple of puzzle elements to it. The story is something pulled out of someone's ass though. And did you find the secret grenade yet?

Editing … So it is the same enjoy level of staring at a Van Gogh painting for three hours? Not much happens, but damn is it pretty.
