It was hard to find this one as interesting as the original game since you go in knowing most of what's going to happen, but it was still wonderful having it all presented in that unbelievably amazing way Fata Morgana tells its stories, and the way it handled the ending was fucking glorious, I love the ending of this so very much, the pain is REAL. And the epilogue thing, my god, this was the best way they could've possibly made the prequel. My personal biggest complaint though is the fact that most of soundtrack is a bit boring in this one, which is a huge deal when considering how perfect the original game's was. Cocoro Mashima composes some beautiful music on her own but with most of this reading experience's soundtrack being nothing but samey piano it's really not very interesting, and it affects the way you experience the story. The songs in it that do have full instrumentation though have to be heard to be believed, they're just as amazing as you'd hope from the Fata Morgana name.
The first half of this I did mostly find sadly boring except for a few nice parts and I didn't really care for any of the new characters, but in the latter half where it starts heading in the direction you knew it was going to head in eventually everything starts to feel harrowing as all hell, and the payoff is absolutely worth it all.
Then there's all the extra stories it comes with and Assento Dele which make it all the better. I won't spoil anything about what they are but I loved them all.
My lasting impression for the game is its ending and its epilogue, and all the extra stories too, and those fucking gobsmacking full-instrumentation songs, and that's all it needs to be a 10/10 experience for me. Keika Hanada is a god among men and there will be no justice in the world until he's recognised as such. And so is Gao. And Yusuke Tsutsumi. And Moyataro. I can't believe how talented the folks at Novectacle are.
