Having completed the game three times with different parties, I figured I was finally finished. Then I looked at the achievement list … and started a new game.

"The Cave" is a 2D puzzle platformer where Players are given a total of 7 (8-ish) characters at the beginning, from which to choose a party of 3 and solve various environment puzzles with, by playing them one at a time and taking advantage of their unique special ability.

It may encourage replayability via these character combination possibilities, but having to replay the majority of a puzzler only to play a certain part differently or a new part – that gets annoying fast.

Spotting the many little easter eggs about previous Ron Gilbert games is a little mini-game in and of itself, and – as is often the case with his games – the humor is the driving factor in "The Cave". I felt it was even a bit darker than usual.

Jumping controls are a bit laggy & sluggish but maybe my PC is just too old.

But overall I enjoyed it a lot.
