I was looking back at my old Facebook posts and saw that I posted the XCOM 2010 E3 trailer. Apparently that got turned into this game. Maybe I should give it a go sometime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdVb4UnqO7A

I don't think I ever mentioned it, but this game's pretty cute. It's a discount Mass Effect clone set in the XCOM universe, and it doesn't do bad at being a discount Mass Effect clone. Has a pretty interesting story too.

The AI in this game is a whole new level of horrendous. It might make for a good amount of fun anecdotes, though.

See, there I was, ducking in and out of cover with my sniper rifle as I face a swarm of invaders, when out of nowhere I see Bill fucking Murray running out from the farthest depths of the enemy lines. We're here fighting for our lives (and the rest of humanity's) and he's sprinting outside of cover within enemy territory, not giving a rat's ass about anything. Rat's ass. Why would I say "rat's ass?" What does that even mean? Bill Murray is my engineer, he looks like a Ghostbuster.
But the AI's always doing this. Sometimes both AI companions will both run right into enemy lines and get themselves downed within the first seconds of a firefight. I might get attached to Bill Murray. I named him Bill fucking Murray. I don't want him dying just because the game's fuckin stupid. The Ghostbusters have seen enough trauma.

This game's got pretty good real-time rendering, so why so many prerendered cutscenes? They don't even compare to what you see in-engine, and the resolution's horrendous.

The Bureau has some interesting ideas that are brought down by very annoying issues. After Enemy Unknown I was interested in the series. This may not be a turn-based strategy, but it had some things that made it stand out. This includes the ability to tell your allies what to do during combat. This seemed like a good idea but your teammates A.I. is so inept at doing the most basic of action, like getting into cover to avoid enemy fire, it becomes frustrating. When your not babysitting your team you will notice that the gameplay is unsatisfying. The gameplay itself isn't bad. The game does look good, and I like the 1960's setting. The story is also decent with a really good idea thrown in. They also added other things that seem pointless. In the end The Bureau has good graphics, some neat ideas, and a decent story. It falls flat on mostly everything else which is disappointing.
