I need a background check on this guy, before I pass any judgement on this guy's ability to shape Nintendo's future. What has he been known for, which decisions within the company did he push for, is he progressive or reactive, etc.?

Editing … I'd really like to hear him speak. He's spent most of his life in the Anglophone world (27 years of Sanwa Bank postings in the Americas, and 15 years with Nintendo USA/Pokemon Company USA), so I'm sure he's fluent. Miyamoto was never going to become president as he doesn't speak English. You can't have a company president in the year 2015 that has to appear on stage with a translator. It's too embarrassing. If he had any ambition to pursue that role, he should've taken a crash course on English. Of course, there could've been plenty of other reasons why he never got picked, but I know some people were hoping for it. In any case, yeah, this Tatsumi guy has been around for ages, but we don't know a whole lot about him. From his pictures he looks a bit... dull. And old. But who knows, maybe he's actually an extremely fun guy that we grow to love like we did Iwata. That's why I wanna hear him talk. To get a better feel of the type of person he his. Because that's really the only important quality in a company president, of course. He needs to be fun on stage.

Editing … To my understanding he is a businessman, and businessman foremost. The major games he has been involved with producing are Mario Party 5(?) to 8(?) and some Mario Tennis game or something. As I recall, he also opposed Wii U strongly, and suspected it to be a mistake, which he was pretty right.

Editing … I don't know what to think about this. I agree on the WiiU, and not only the failure of the hardware but their failure of making good games on it. Can't think of more than 5 games I'd get on a WiiU. Still bought one for my nieces. It's good value for your money for a kid, since there are so many simple but difficult games, e.g. The Donkey Kong games and Mario Kart.
