I can't give a proper review as I don't remember everything about this game. I do however, remember the game feeling much like a Zelda knock-off with with Star Fox assets. I also remember most of the puzzles being typical "weight switch/push block" puzzles as you utilized your Dino friend to sit on switches for you. It also seem the combat was fairly rudimentary - I don't remember having issues with fighting and it was very similar to Ocarina of Time, which is a good thing, but I know I didn't necessarily love combat.

I think much of my opinion comes from feeling that the previous Star Fox games were better Star Fox games, and that any 3D Zelda game was a better Zelda-type game. In retrospect, I can't say anything was truly bad about the game - graphics and controls were good for its time, the music hasn't made it into my music collection, but it fits the game well enough. I just know I beat it, and never touched it again and then when I looked up a video of this game just now, only very little of it looks familiar.

The ultimate game for a furry fanatic like myself. The game was a fun spin as Rare's take on the Zelda-esque genre and it had great characters, good storytelling and a beautiful world to explore. It looks better than most Wii titles even and is still an impressive looking feat on my purple lunchbox. To me this is what Star Fox needed and while many people do chastise this game for not being like Star Fox, well, I imagine Star Fox as more of a universe, this expanded and gave more depth to the Star Fox universe than cheesy one-liners and PEW PEW PEW! Even though this game has weird difficulty spikes and awkward design choices, this livened it up for me and remains my favorite Star Fox game as well as one of my favorites games of all time.

An underrated game. While it's true it lacks the scale and complexity of Zelda games, it's still a very enjoyable experience. It has varied environments accompanied with the catchy music that Rare is known for. It also probaly has the best graphics on Gamecube.

Star Fox Adventures isn't a bad game by any means, and the graphics are honestly some of the best in any game ever made, but in so many areas the game is unpolished. Unlike in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the game it was based off of, there can be cheap enemies, bad camera angles, much more simplistic combat and dungeons, bad death animations, and even a sometimes awkward control scheme. There's also some big flaws in the game's own right, including bad voice acting and a story that generally isn't bad but not exactly good either, with a terrible twist at the end. With all of that said, Adventures is still a fun game since it's based off of an amazing one, even if it isn't quite as good. It's very cheap these days, so give it a shot.
