Saved!SandvichEditing … I can't believe the first game came out seven years ago. I've put off playing it for so long. The original often goes on sale for a couple bucks. Would you say it's still worth playing or does the sequel improve the formula to the point that the original feels redundant?
Saved!ExplojinEditing … You could play the freeware version and get much the same experience. The first Spelunky is mostly just a graphical update to the freeware version, with local multi added in as well. I don't think 2 makes the first one redundant either. Just adds extra enemies, scenarios, characters, items and online play. It's got a bit more polish to the story and look of the game as well. But ultimately they all feel almost identical gameplay-wise.
