I got a Moto G Stylus. It was missing the stylus but I don't care, it's a cool looking phone at a good price and the screen was big compared to what I have.

But... it smells like fucking deoderant or something. I didn't notice the smell until I started using it, as though the heat from the components is feuling the intensity of odor, like a scented candle.

Thankfully I will not be putting up with it. I learned from my experience owning an even worse smelling slim Vita that this is 110% a deal breaker for me and I make no apology for it. The phone is going in the bin the moment I find a replacement.

I've suddenly become grateful for owning neat stuff that *doesn't* smell like cancer.. whether or not I actually have any use for those things. Prime example being my New 3DS XL which actually smells good somehow, WTF. Typically all smells are bad no matter what but in all the time I've owned it I found it pleasant. It has a mild leather-chair like smell. Gives it prestige. Buut.... I am hard pressed to find a reason to ever use it, other than to draw using Colors 3D which realistically I will never do. Even if I decide to just play games on it, a 2DS is vastly superior for that purpose. So I'm just sitting on a 3DS that does nothing and can't bring myself to part w it.

I am cursed. Maybe also a little sad, deranged. But definitely cursed.

Editing … Disgusting. Just get a new one and sell the stinky one to someone with no nose. I almost never buy used electronics because there is always something wrong with them. Previous owners constantly "forget" to mention things.

Editing … I actually left the aforementioned Vita by the window for like a week, periodically wiping it off w a damp napkin. It nearly worked. But some of the smell was coming from inside one of the speakers, so there was nothing more I could do.

Editing … Oh yeah I sold it a while ago. It was during my great Vita purge where I decided to sell all my Vitas starting w my slim models them my OLED. But I ended up keeping the OLED after nobody bought. ¯\(ツ) p.s. This was the cause of me hitting the $600 selling limit on mercari that one time, which made it so I couldn't sell anything else unless I filed for taxes.

Editing … My bad, this phone smells too. Like bar soap. I find it interesting that this was never a problem with any of the phones I bought up to this point, and now it happens twice in a row. I'm starting to believe it might be some new age shit, like I have a negative spirit energy or something, because things like this keep happening to me. I'm just cursed I guess. (By any chance are there any Why Files episodes that deal with this sort of thing?) Anyway, it might actually be worth to just go with a new phone at this point, instead of always buying used. In the meantime however I bought like three more phones because I don't deserve to deal w this smell a second longer than I have to.

The phone I have w the bulging battery. Not only does it not power on, but now the screen won't even turn on when you hold the power button. (as in to tell you that it's charging) So how do I get rid of it if there is no way to reset it?

Editing … Apparently theres a way to do it remotely, via your google account. HOW that is even possible is beyond me. Wouldn't the phone still need to power on before it can receive the instruction to wipe itself? (as well as connect to wifi or cellular somehow?)

Editing … "you can remotely wipe your device/or change screen lock from Find My Device. as soon as it is connected to internet the changes will apply." as i thought. The phone needs to connect first. But it does work, at least? So that's one option..

I just bought a new phone. It's a LeNovo and it's fucking massive, I can barely hold it with one hand. 6'4 inches of screen.
It's like... one tenth of my penis, Jesus Christ. At least it's good for reading manga, which is not the case with my penis.

You guys know of any apps that tell you how much time you've spent on each app? Something like the activity log on 3DS or Steam telling you how much you've played each game.

Did you know? If you don't own a #Smartphone in Germany and don't have #WhatsApp, no one will contact you anymore. Guess how many "Happy New Year!" wishes I got via text messages.

"Oh neat, Sony just announced a new Xperia! I'll definitely buy that phone once it's a bit cheaper."

    a short while later:

"Wow, this new smartphone they just announced has three times the jiggablops and an increased buzzword filter! Glad I waited so I didn't end up with (insert name of slightly older device here ) ! Man, what a piece of junk that was. I'll definitely buy that NEW and improved phone ... once it's a bit cheaper."

Editing … I drew the line at the Z1 compact. First waterproof Xperia with awesome specs that's nice and pocket sized. Going off the Z2 the Z2 compact'll be more powerful and won't scratch as easily but I wouldn't say it's worth waiting.
