Got very tedious in the end and I wish they would have just removed all the extraneous team members that aren't fun to play as. They really tried to tap into every genre in between some solid action 3D platformer sections. Should have really reigned it in and stuck to the core team and their strengths. The master thief challenges were a nice touch even though they were pretty easy. I like that most of the boss battles stuck to platforming this go around unlike Sly 2 which would just through random shit at you for a boss battle.

Early impressions 10% in, the controls feel snappier, the writing is funnier, and the game seems more focused on platforming elements so far. Bentley and Murray are more mobile and fun to play with. Checkpoints within missions feel better suited than in previous titles. Interested to see if this devolves into mini game madness as is foreshadowed by Big Boss's review below.

While I found Sly 2 frustratingly hard, I found this one a bit too easy, so the first one is still my favorite. This game's solid though.

After having a ball with the first two Sly games I wasn't sure what to expect from Sly 3, having heard it was not as good. While it isn't perfect, I definitely love it just as much as its predecessors. The game does overkill the amount of minigames vs. sticking to platforming near the end of the game, but the first at least 3/4's is great. Almost every mission involves multiple characters' abilities which actually give them better flow compared to Sly 2 and have a lot of variety. The writing, while admittingly more saturday morning cartoon zany, is funnier than ever and results in some memorable situations and dialogue. And the story, while overall not as strong as it could have been, has some good elements, like an interesting bad guy.
