This game actually came with its soundtrack. I don't think SH3 used its music nearly as memorably in scenes as 2 did, but the music on its on is as good as 2's I feel. I used to lay in the dark listening to the soundtrack CD, and it was the first thing I put on my mp3 player.

Vincent is the shit. I love his design and how hammy he is. I like him at least as much as the other three main characters combined.

Jordan Underneath on Silent Hill 3 and Revelation 3D. When he's talking about SH3 it's wonderful and I fucking love it. When he switches over to talking about Revelation... Well, even Jordan can't make it enjoyable. Seeing scenes from that movie makes me feel ill. For me, Jordan Underneath is to Silent Hill what Me Blog Write Good is to The Simpsons, Critically Touched is to Buffy, and JesuOtaku is to Digimon.

Silent Hill 3 is not only a great horror game, it also boosts some very impressive graphics for being a PS2 game. As far overall atmosphere and horror goes it doesn't quite reach the same levels as SH 1 or 2 but I adore some of the monster designs in this and in my opinion SH 3 has the most disturbing enemies of the original SH trilogy. The amusement park is probably one of my favorite segments of the horror genre (dat haunted house).

Score: 8.5 (Great!)

SH3 has the most impressive facial animation I've ever seen in a gen 6 game:

Silent Hill 3 is impressive and absorbing. Like the first two, it's very scary, and the graphics are technically outstanding for the ps2, with some great effects and designs. The soundtrack is wonderful, with some of the best music in video games. The story is gripping and at times emotional. The gameplay is intense with a higher level of challenge and some great bosses. The characters are good, especially the hammy Vincent. Lots of options give the game replay value, and there's tons of difficulties. However, the game is too linear and short, with a dumb ending, and not much happens during the first third of the story. Also, the gameplay can be more frustrating than in the first two, and in general I like it's style a bit less.

Score: 8.5 (Great!)

I found this one a bit of a letdown. Yes, it has Valtiel (an even scarier mofo than Pyramid Head IMO). Yes, it has the Mirror Room (look it up on Youtube... if you dare *cue theatrically OTT diabolical laughter*). Yes, it has monsters and levels that are even more insane than anything its predecessors have to offer. However, in terms of the storyline it drags at times and lacks the, shall we say, cerebral qualities of SH2. Plus there's one particular character death which is simply unforgiveable. But each to their own. It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination but in my view it simply pales in comparison to the first two.

Score: 6.0 (Not bad!)
