Probably the best iteration of the series. Even today, it's still clean, crisp looking and has that addictive gameplay style. Oh...and Elvis as your culture advisor. Yeah.

An all-time classic and one of the best TBS games ever. It's brutally addicting, anyone who's played a Civ game knows what it's like to say 'just one more turn' into the wee hours of the morning. I might like it even more than Alpha Centauri.

Absolutly awesome until the industrialisation starts, after this date it made no sense to me to establish new cities. Spend so many hours with developing the area of cities & buildings itself, never conquering more than one or two cities from all the opponents together. Have never been so peacefull in a strategy game again.

Awesome game. I spent countless hours playing this, and the first half of every game is more fun than anything. The game sucks up time like nothing else. Unfortunately, as the end nears, there is too much micro-management for my tastes, and it starts to get tedious. Still a load of fun, and one of my favorite strategy games, although I have yet to play any other of the Civ games besides Civ III.

Civ II CAN change the flow of time. Minutes become seconds, hours become minutes.
Same as Heroes 3.
