Manga fans, and more particularly #Shonen Jump fans have a reason to rejoice since an official app, called "Manga Plus" has officially been released that publishes their ongoing manga basically as soon as they are released in Japan. This includes Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump SQ and Jump Plus manga. Besides their roughly 30 ongoing manga they also have a bunch of completed manga, from Jump, on the website as well. The app is free to use and read, with ads, of course, but the actual authors gain part of the money and they'll use this to see what manga have interest outside of Japan, and since Jump has been known for cancelling manga quite often, this is good news all around.
There's a couple of "ifs" of course, not every chapter is available for free. You have the first three and the last six, anything else you got to pay. And in terms of completed manga right now you only have the first three with them releasing new chapters on a regular schedule, but after having released 9 chapters it seems that it goes with the format of first 3 and last 6 released. Anything else you can buy them by volume batch.
It's not a perfect system, but if you're following an ongoing Jump manga I think this app/site will be a good alternative.

Editing … Shonen Jump was how I first discovered manga. I still have nearly every issue from 2004-07. I learned about a lot of different titles including a few of my favorites both from the ones published in the magazine and directly published in paperback. I'll definitely be checking this out.

Editing … I think my next objective is catch up to all of their ongoing manga on Weekly Shonen Jump. Thankfully I've been following One Piece weekly for the last 10 years already.

Editing … I guess I'm an outlier but One Piece was one of the manga that never really grabbed me. I mean I read it along with all the other ones in the magazine but I was never as invested in it as I was with most of the others.

Editing … Honestly I think I was just never as interested in the setting as I was with some other manga, and the art style was never my favorite either. It's good. I like it. It just never grabbed my attention the way Shaman King or Hikaru no Go or Millennium World did when reading those issues.

Editing … I guess Naruto was kind of the same way, but I enjoyed that more than One Piece.

Editing … Never even heard of Milennium World. I really liked the other two tho, specially Shaman King. I think One Piece's world building is it's strong point, I never read a manga where the world in the background evolved so much. Like, the characters can be stuck in an island fighting some baddie and when they finish we discover that a bunch of side characters moved places, evolved, gained new allies or enemies, the politics changed, the world evolved. It's pretty amazing, most fictional worlds only evolve due to their main cast actions, but it's not the case with One Piece.

Editing … I bought Monthly Shonen Jump every month from about 2004-2007. It was my first real exposure to manga and I still love it. My favorites were Hikaru no Go, Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, and Beet the Vandel Buster. Read/bought a lot of other stuff though like Shaman King, Yu Yu Hakusho, Buso Renkin, and Claymore. Lots of good stuff.

I grouped every manga series (created on the website) published in the Shonen Jump magazine here. And I made a mistake in the first released date of Naruto but I can't edit it again.

Now, I'm exhausted and I need to sleep! Goodnight Favsland. :D
