This is still one of funniest point-and-click games I've ever played. Sam and Max are truly unforgettable icons with plenty of unpredictable jokes. There are plenty of bizarre moments where a rabbit shoves his hand down a cat's throat or where Sam plays a miniature golf course with gators in the rivers. Gamers will never forget every unique turn in the storyline even after they finish the game.

My favorite of the LucasArts adventure games. It's hilarious and brilliantly crafted.

The classic 2D "Hit The Road" breezingly outplays the newer 3D sequels for one simple reason: cartoon violence works better in two dimensions. More than that though, Steve Purcell's art lends this game its unique colorful look and the attitude of the Freelance Police perfectly blends with the typical humor of LucasArts adventures - it still gets me to this day. Although the puzzles aren't all too intuitive, they still feel comprehensible in retrospect most of the times after the explorative effort has been rewarded with graphically funny jokes. There are surprisingly many mini-games, too. The voice acting gives Sam & Max the final touch. (Trivia: in the german version, Max is spoken by Sandra Schwittau, the voice of Bart Simpson).
