    Saved!
The Strokes were the hottest band alive when their second album came out. To be honest, "Room On Fire" was more or less the same as their debut album, but with songs in different keys. Still, their lo-fi recording style and their musicianship were undeniably at their peak at this time.

    Saved!
I had turned the other cheek to some of The Strokes work after "This Is It" from lack of popular attention they get. But, after listening to "Reptilia" and being so blown away, I decided to go deeper into The Strokes's other works. Needless to say, I was not prepared. This is definitely the best Alternative/Indie records released in the last decade, if not for Franz Ferdinand's self titled LP. Where as Casablancas's voice distortion was a tidbit unnecessary in "This Is It", it locks perfectly with the grittier, more violent attitude of this record. Although the lack of punch that many place on their previous album has returned, it blends just as seamlessly into the bands tone as I think the first record did. If you weren't a fan of the bands debut, then you won't like this. But, if you so much as liked their first album, then run out of your room to buy it as if it were on fire. HAH! GEDDIT!? Fuck it...
