"Resonance" is at its core pretty old-school, yet it brings some fresh ideas to classic adventure gaming, e.g. the ability to use memories of events or conversations - much like regular inventory items - to solve puzzles. Another essential element sees the player switch between the four main characters and have them co-operate. The story is a mixed bag: Part techno-thriller, part drama with a hint of conspiracy theories, it manages to suprise and to entertain. But the script can feel artificial at times and suffers from occasional bouts of bad writing. Certain elements seem underdeveloped or rushed, as if the developers were running out of time or budget.
