A big improvement over the first game, but I still couldn't enjoy myself. The game's a lot more imaginative, and there's actually a narrative connecting the levels now (whereas the first game felt as if the levels were designed first, and then a narrative was shat out last second), but the levels are so painfully linear and lack interaction, and the AI and gunplay are laughably done. Based on the HowLongToBeat runtime, I was probably about halfway through.

But I'll try the third game. Wikipedia says it's post-apocalyptic! That's my favorite thing.

What an underrated franchise and, man, what an under-fucking-rated co-op mode. It's definitely more grindy than what you get from today's co-op modes, but holy hell I could not pry myself away from it. That's not to take away from the excellent competitive modes, but the co-op was so unique and fresh that iwas a shame it didn't return for R3. Also, the plot twist at the end came from fucking nowhere and it was awesome, leaving gamers to guess only god-knows-where the impending third installment would go.

After being utterly disappointed with the first entry in the series, I didn't have high hopes for this one. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised by this title. Insomniac managed to rectify most of the bad things from the original and, basically, made a bigger and a (far) better sequel.
Pros: The radio guy, interesting story, diverse locales, fun and beefy co-op, atmosphere, some really cool moments
Cons: The shooting still lacks a punch, competitive multiplayer is a mess, weak design of the main villain

A solid FPS with an interesting sci-fi storyline. The Chimera are taking over earth and you have to fend them off is the basic jist of it. The biggest issue I had with the game was the repetitive enemy types. There's only around 5 different kinds of main enemies which leads to too much repetition. Still a great game though.
