Pokémon Ruby Version and Sapphire Version (ポケットモンスター ルビー&サファイア, Poketto Monsutā Rubī & Safaia?, "Pocket Monsters: Ruby & Sapphire") are the third installments of the Pokémon series of role-playing video games, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. The games were first released in Japan in late 2002 and internationally in 2003. Pokémon Emerald, a special edition version, was released two years later in each region. These three games (Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald) are part of the third generation of the Pokémon video game series, also known as the "advanced generation". A remake of the two games, titled Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, were released for the Nintendo 3DS worldwide on November 21, 2014, exactly twelve years to the date of the original Ruby and Sapphire release date, with the exception of Europe, where it was released on November 28, 2014.     Another good Pokemon game. I recently replayed it, and it's still a good deal of fun.

    Also the tunes as a catchy as I remember them.

    I just booted up Alpha Sapphire, received an Eon Ticket. I'm battling with my team right now--wow, I have no memory of these Pokemon. I have a level 87 Gary Oak (Gyarados), lv94 Glalie, lv 71 Spiritomb, lv 51 Feraligatr, lv 98 Latias, lv50 Zoroark.
    Gonna enjoy me some secret bases.

    I missed the original R/S/E pokémon games, as Pearl was my first Pokémon game. But I have heard about how influential those games were to the series, adding features I take for granted today. When the Generation Three remakes were announced, I was really excited. Hoenn was the only main-series region that I hadn’t explored yet, and I couldn’t wait. And the Alpha Sapphire met all of my expectations, even going a step further with the new DexNav feature.
    ORAS improves upon X and Y with Secret Bases, and an actual, competent post game. The Delta Chapter and Mystery Spots ensure any completionist will carry on playing for months to come. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is great.

    Well, this is pretty cool. If you've managed to transfer a Pokemon all the way from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald to Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, the game will detect that and give you a certificate for it.

    The fact that you can transfer a potentially 12 y/o Pokemon to the latest games in the series is really quite impressive, and Nintendo should be commended for it. At the same time, it makes it all the more disappointing that we can't go back as far as 1996 when the original Red/Green were released, as there's no way to transfer Pokemon from the GB/GBC to the GBA. Bummer...

      Editing … Did they seriously say that in the review? I know that everyone who hates Hoenn tends to do so for that reason, but it's completely subjective. Hoenn has always been my favorite region after Johto partly because it's so rich in water. It sucks how there's been no more sea exploration starting with Gen 4.

      Editing … I haven't played the 3rd gen in a really long time, but I guess I can somewhat understand where she's coming from: if they really overuse the same kind of Pokémon and environments, it makes the game predictable. Don't quote me on that though, I'm just trying to rationalize that con xD

      Editing … Uh, that's an often cited complaint against the original games, so I don't see why people are ragging on IGN about that. Never really bugged me, but lugging HM machines in pokemon is annoying in general.

    I played the demo today but I was a bit disappointed. You have 10 short-adventures to play and you don't have the liberty to do what you want. You can't buy anything, don't have any pokéballs, and can't even enter the houses of the city you're into. I really thought that they would have add something special since, in France, you can have a unique code to play the demo only by buying "Le journal de Mickey'' or, by going to Paris at the 'Paris Game's Week" or by receiving an e-mail they send randomly to people. Plus, Sha had a female starter but at the second "adventure", it became a male.
    You can have a new mega-stone and you'll be able to send other gifts you earned after finishing some "adventures" to the real game though. Well, one more month to play the real version.

    SO HYPE! Secret bases are seriously probably my favorite part of the game! So glad they're coming back expanded and now you can even make your own gym!

    Ruby and Sapphire are by far the best pokemon games out there imo, and this game looks flat out amazing. These new evolutions look badass.
