Saved!UltyEditing … It's not, Dualshock 2 and 3 were improvements over this one. But 4 blew all of them out of the water.
Saved!AxersiaEditing … Be careful not to confuse this with the #DualShock Analog Controller. This was essentially the prototype and not many units exist. Interestingly though, it had the same concave buttons that we wouldn't see again until DS4. Anyway, I haven't spent enough time with DS4 to definitely say whether it deserves to be ranked higher than DS2, but there's a chance. DS3, however... Is all the way at the bottom. Compared to the DS2, the analog sticks feel too loose to me, but more importantly, the trigger buttons were just garbage. Whatever minor improvement they made were completely undone by those triggers. The industry agrees, because eventually it became standard practice to put aim and shoot on R1/L1, even though R2/L2 had been altered with specifically that purpose in mind. They somehow created the best controller ever made by bolting analog sticks onto the #PlayStation Controller, but it didn't work when they tried to do it a second time. It's a good thing they went back to the drawing board and redesigned the DS4 from scratch, while still very clearly keeping the essence of the DualShock.
