I didn't even think that anyone could make an atrocious movie that's vaguely about video games. And Adam Sandler did it with Kevin Hart and that dude from Game of Thrones. I would say that Adam Sandler deserves a medal for that s***, but that would be too congratulatory.

It is remarkable just how unremarkable Pixels is. Like I just finished watching and if I were to take a quiz on what happened I'd most likely fail. This movie is so mind-numbingly dull, I felt like I was in a coma like haze the entire time - the only thing to wake me up from this haze was the obnoxious sounds of Waka Flocka Flame (I could tell it was him because he said his name like 10 times) during the credits. It is really sad that Futurama - probably close to a decade, maybe over a decade ago - did this concept not only better but in roughly 27min. But what shocked me the most - from the blurry images/sounds I happened to captured mid coma - was just how determined this film was in mocking the only fan base it was going to get. The films main joke, when boiled down, basically hammers home the general idea that "LOL you played video games in the 80s, what a no-life nerd you are". It comes off rather insulting, especially so when Sandler's character is basically nothing more then a worthless nerd who'd have probably hung himself in a closet if this whole world ending event didn't happen (or if Adam Sandler wasn't playing him) - and don't even get me started on the Peter Dinklage & Josh Gad characters, Christ they're the fucking worse out of the bunch. I'm not sure if this is saying much or not, but this has to be one of, if not the, laziest film to come out of the hell that is Happy Madison Productions. This, and even that stupid sequel to Paul Blart, just doesn't have any energy to it, it is dead on arrival. It's like Sandler and company cares so little that they won't even attempt to do the usual outlandishly stupid crap they're known for. With such little effort given it's no surprise that Pixels really is the worse kind of bad, it doesn't even have the common courtesy to give an audience enough to be able to laugh at its stupidity; all it does is make you question what you're doing with your life. Though I must say that I do find it hilarious that Chris Columbus made the first two Harry Potter movies - movies, I'd say, that were staples to most children's childhoods - to only then - down the line - make this, it's like the cycle is complete. He inspired such awe & wonderment to us as children, and then when we grew up he pissed in our faces and said "yeah bitch welcome to real life".

Also, RedLetterMedia hit the nail on the head when they said Sandler's movies are basically fraud. I mean it fucking cost 88 million to make this movie, add another 12 million to that and you get the budget of fucking Cuaron's Gravity - lol sure this cost 88 million to make.

Looks like, by all accounts, Pixels is quite the shit show.

    27 from Metacritic
    19% from Rotten Tomatoes

How shocking. Glad Happy Madison Productions was so nice to grace us with three - possibly four - shit movies this year.

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s upcoming film ‚Pixels‘ (ooh, interesting title. tell me more) will feature classic video game characters such as Donkey Kong and Pac-Man (neat, I’m definitely going to watch that flick!) the company announced today. The movie, which stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James (aaaand I’m out.) is slated for May 15, 2015.
