Pirates is back to it's best, I really enjoyed it.

Well, it's about as good as you'd expect the fifth entry of a franchise that shouldn't even exist to be.

Downright miserable film experience, not one moment of enjoyment to be seen or had. Like it's so obvious that nobody involved in this film cared about making something worth anything. Johnny Depp is downright awful in this film, I think he is finally done with this character/monster he created. Honestly? don't blame him one bit, I'd be sick of playing this character for five films. Depp does the absolute bare minimum (i.e. showing up) that he has to in this film. He come in, half-halfheartedly does his Jack Sparrow Esq clown routine and calls it a day. His lack of effort make the film all the more miserable to sit through. The narrative feels like one that has been in development hell for 6 years. To put it into very broad terms, the story comes of as a very weak rehashing of the first one. It has identical plot points as the first one, not so much lifted wholesale but has near identical scene moments (I'd guess I'd call it that, for lack of a better term). Not only is this lazy and repetitive but because there are no worth wild characters to be seen makes the experience all the more tedious and frustrated to sit through. Really just a terrible film all around.

This franchise already felt like a ship sinking, and all this installment has done is added a few more holes to speed up the process.

Hey @Pape Badiane, you need to add an extra year to release dates. This movie was announced for release on July 7, 2017, but it only goes up to 2016.

Word has it Orlando Bloom may be returning this time around. Interesting.
