Editing … I liked SC5 (pt2). Incredibly awesome game, even if you don't own a dancemat. (But especially then)

Editing … I don't know, I just suck at it. Also, I'd like to add #WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Games! to that list. Horrible game. Can we please get a "Least Favorite Games of All Time" list already ?

Editing … If you can hold a rhythm you can play any rhythm-based game. I don't see how SC5 is different from, say, #Child of Eden other than the fact that CoE doesn't *rely* on rhythm but you get a better score if you do play in rhythm.

Editing … It's just that I despise games that demand perfection in order to progress, e.g. WarioWare mocks the player if he doesn't react fast enough. I don't derive pleasure from contempt/getting bullied/being laughed at. To me gaming should be about flow: #Rez, #Child of Eden, #Dyad, #Entwined and #Lumines are less punishing in that regard, they encourage you to try again if you've failed.

Editing … I get what you mean, Gries. These type of rhythm games indeed encourage perfect play and discourage imperfect play. Like #Driver. I guess you're just not into the challenging kind of fun, or fun via natural difficulty or however you wanna call it. Let me see if I can recommend you a rhythm-based game that's not that type but not from QE either.

Editing … Hm. I thought we had made a rhythm list back on unikGamer. — Pteranodon by #Nifflas is supposedly a musical shooter (I haven't played it) but I don't see it: https://youtu.be/-GPLJcIRgb8 — But it reminds me of #Proteus, not really rhythm based but the music is dynamic, too, iirc. — Maybe Wii Music is your kind of thing, though. It's supposedly a "be perfect" rhythm game so you'd hate it, but it fails at doing that imo which is why maybe you'd gonna like it after all. — I dunno what else though. Most other music games that I can think of right now are of that "be perfect" ilk.

Boy, I've never had this much fun playing a real-time strategy game like Patapon. Let alone an RTS with a rhythm-based music game built in the battle system. Sometimes the musical timing gets in the way of the intense battles, but I've never felt so funky fresh playing a war game.
