I'm not usually big on found footage flicks, which usually stems from annoying camera guys, uncreative motives to shoot the footage we're watching, and that recent overall feeling of the quick cash grab of a major studio looking to make major profits on a quickly filmmed movie with no name actors on a micro budget; but this is a case where I think it's done plausibly well.

I give this movie the credit of being a true creative independent film that was picked up by a major studio, and sat in a closet for years, because they didn't know what to do with it - IIRC, there was talk of remaking the concept on a higher budget. Thankfully, it was released in it's original form, even though it sparked a legion of "me too" flicks that aren't nearly as good.

It's intriguing, creepy, and competently shot, but what really surprised me was how well Katie Featherston's performance sold the concept. My only slight gripe is that Micah (the boyfriend) felt unusually brave given the circumstances. I often humorously bring up the idea of how long I would have stuck with Katie once I found out that the ghost only follows her around.
