Good game

Extremely disappointing. While there's no problem with a game simply being a 'big dumb shooter', some degree of substance is required to keep the player entertained - at the very least give me a whole bunch of guns to use! The vast majority of Painkiller however is linear levels comprised solely of shooting enemies and moving to the next room. There's a fair range of enemies, but none of them need to be handled in different ways, meaning playing becomes repetitive fast. The developers try to turn some bosses into puzzles of sorts (by requiring the player to figure out how to beat them) but most of these are either incredibly simple or aggravatingly confusing. On the bright side, there's a nice range of environments, and lots of content
