It's a really solid story-driven 2D platformer but that's about it. The areas are way too small, the dungeons are corridors with occasional branches and there's hardly anything to explore, which is a shame because the game gives this feeling like it's going to be one big adventure at first. Also the game doesn't allow itself the time to let you soak in the atmosphere, the game world has a very soothing, somewhat melancholic atmosphere to it but the devs clearly don't know the meaning of subtlety because their approach to storytelling is, to say the least, heavy-handed. Also all the characters talk way too much, it further harms the atmosphere.

It's really hard to justify both the price tag and the 9 years spent in development, there's very little content, both main story and optional and it's not like the levels are particularly meticulously crafted and full of detail to make up for that either. It may seem odd that I'm giving it an high score after saying all this but it's still a very good game, but a very good game is still one big dissapointment considering the potential this one had.

Sure looks pretty though.
