Okami is a superb game that simply keeps on giving, but sometimes there can be too much of a good thing. Okami proves that when after the second or third ending it gives you, it keeps on going even if you've already had enough, slightly souring the otherwise amazing experience.
Pros: Beautiful visual style, Celestial Brush is a cool gameplay mechanic, helluva charming, lovely characters, great music and story, diverse locales, mostly great dungeons and boss fights, flashy combat, gameplay and scenic variation stop the game from going stale...
Cons: ...for good two thirds of the game, then the game starts to overstay its welcome (last few hours especially are a huge pain), combat is all flash and no substance, overall the game is way too simple and too easy, camera and ball physics are troublesome

Editing … I personally liked the huge dramatic peaks that made you think the game was over, only for the story to march on. It was like the Nier: Automata of its day. By the end it really felt like I had been on a huge, incredible journey, and the way it shows all the characters lending you their strength makes it all feel very earned. It made that final boss fight against pseudo-Unicron one of the most memorable and emotionally enthralling endings to a game I've ever experienced. The story is so good it makes you forget about the annoying chirping and squeaking the characters make. I would have trimmed back on the recycled boss fights though. That's one annoying staple in Japanese games I could do without.

I've heard some people say the HD version is the worst, but that's the only version available to me. Do I want it?
What are the reasons for people not liking the HD version, anyway?

Editing … HD version is great, what the fuck are they talking about. It controls just like the PS2 version (weird at first, but you get used to it), and other than that, I can't see why they wouldn't like it.

Editing … I think they're purists who didn't want cel-shading to be in HD. I'll buy it.

Editing … Does the game support PS Move? I don't have the navigation controller addon, but I'll pick that up at some point.

Editing … It does, although drawing straight lines is a pain with the Move.

Okami is a masterpiece. At first glance, some might mistake it for a gorgeous Zelda clone - but no, Okami is far more than that. Okami is a game of "healing" first and foremost. The paint brush mechanics seem simple but they offer such a fresh perspective in this sort of adventure. I love the feudal Japan-inspired soundtrack. I love the way the world is woven around by you and your brush, Amaterasu. I love the NPC's you meet - Kushi, the Sake girl and Issun the fairy boy to name a couple. Okami is a great :)

Speechless. Just. Speechless. Such is my reaction to Capcom's epic Okami.

It's tough to say just what left me so speechless. It could have been the integral Japanese culture, accompanied by sweet classical music and a cel-shaded visual style that constantly appeared as if it was all a moving painting. Or perhaps it was the long and steady yet attention-keeping plot that had me guessing until the end. Maybe it was the creative gameplay that put together a dog, a brush, and a few plated weapons and gave them the power of a God.

Okami hardly has anything stopping it from being called perfect. But unlike my other favorites, I only played it once. And that was enough.

Is there any place where I can download an Okami save file for PCSX2 ? I've played this game for about 12 hours so far on PS2 and don't want to start over on PC. tia

I'll admit that Okami grabbed me by the nostalgias and has refused to let go ever since I first played it. That doesn't take away from the fact that it's an extremely well-designed game with enough heart and soul to melt you into a puddle. I'm in the process of playing Okami HD and I'm so happy I get to experience it again in such detail.
