I didn't know at the time but when I was a kid my mum (who normally refuses to play any games for no good reason) played this a lot on my PS1 and because she sucked at it she used to call one of those game help phone lines constantly to ask them how to get past a bit she was on, so much so that she spent almost all of her wages on phone bills for it
In another life my mum could've been such an ebin gamer
Even though she always called it Abe's Oddysee despite presumably being corrected by the people she phoned every time she called them because she gave them the wrong friggin game

Editing … Awesome. Yea, I used to have a ton of physical cheat books and guides. I mainly used the internet for flash games and fan-fiction back in the day :p

Editing … GameFAQs is good and all, but I always preferred the Universal Hint System (for the games it was available) which would avoid spoilers. Especially for point-n-click games.

This was the first game I ever owned and I couldn't be happier about that, it's still one of my favourites today. Easily one of the best 2D platformers of all time, even though Oddworld Inhabitants weren't able to put as much heart into this as they could the first game because of the deadline they had to make it, it somehow ended up ten times as good. It's straight up perfect, I don't have a single problem with it. The atmosphere isn't quite as thick as the Oddysee's but I personally prefer this game's environments way way more, especially disc 2's, FeeCo Depot and the SoulStorm Brewery especially I just love the feel of. The Necrum Mines have become a really iconic first level for me too. Quiksaves are a godsend, being able to possess Paramites and Scrabs is awesome, and the Glukkon possession segments feel like an equivalent of boss fights and they really add something awesome to the formula. I just love it, it's so so so good. I played it so much as a kid I'm pretty sure I can finish at least the mines blindfolded.

Just completed the game with all 300 Mudokons saved :D I've never done that before. I had a great time replaying this game. And with that, the first hurdle has been overcome, in my quest to replay my top 25 :)

Editing … I've always loved how massive this game felt compared to the first one. It has seven massive locations for you to explore. When it came out on PS1 it shipped on 2 discs. You can control so many more enemies with your chant ability and the "gamespeak" options were expanded greatly. I still adore this game as much as I did when it first came out.

Having to make do with my friend's PS3, but oho, what is this? I had apparently downloaded Abe's Exoddus onto his console at some point :D Considering how terrible my memory usually is, I am doing amazingly well at remembering all the hidden Mudokons. Saved all of them thus far. I reckon I should comfortably rescue all the ones in the mines at least. Wish me luck with the rest :p My next couple of hours are sorted, haha :D

So apparently this is getting a remake. I wonder if it will surpass the original version for me :P At #11 in my all-time faves, they'll have to try pretty darn hard!
