Not to mention the majority of anime star teenagers who are for that trope either in love, get put into awkward sexual situations, (despite knowing little about love or sex and probably being virgins) or both. Being in those situations it's pretty easy to understand why someone would be flustered. Granted it's a bit romanticized certainly but it's a lot more interesting to me than the more realistic interpretation of teenagers being horny cretins that'll sex anything that moves.
