what if I keep it and use it to take pictures of my cars in racing videogames

    Except that's really, really crazy.

But also kind of a good idea. Part of me would rather keep the phone anyway. It has a crack from having dropped it once, I have an attachment to objects that are broken in some way. Also it's a Windows Phone. Donating a windows phone to someone is like kicking them in the face.
plus I can always use it as a camera in general. Except taking pictures is blatantly a form of hoarding. Aside from videogame cars, I can't imagine anything I would absolutely need to take a picture of.

should I remove the sim card from the phone before getting rid of it?

nodley Green Is it active? Snap it just to be certain.

Master Crash Honestly if someone does catch it, they will most likely get rid of it and keep the phone.

rockshard PhD I am considering bringing it to the Verizon store that sold me the sim card in the first place and ask them to remove it, while I'm there I can see if they can take the phone as well. If Verizon runs some kind of phone donation drive then I should be able to just drop off the phone.
