Really Nintendo over 40 minutes of E3 related advertising (r-rated!) in my (youtube) musicvideo? What is going on here!

Question. Is it possible to buy a Switch screen on ebay and just buy an AC adapter and Joycons separately? That should be fine, right?

Umm damn, maybe I should wait before getting a Switch to see if Nintendo releases this bundle in the west.

rockshard PhD I want a PS4 for Gravity Rush 2 and a PS3 for Ridge Racer Unbound. But I don't have a TV. The Switch is no problem, since I can just use it where I currently have my PSP- you know, the one I'm never playing again.

Husky Wing I never got a TV for my PS3, I just got another monitor for my desk, with built-in speakers.

Sandy Vich This is totally logical. Couldn't you only replace your Wii U Gamepad if you sent your old one into Nintendo? For a portable system that can be lost, stolen or heaven forbid, dropped in the ocean or something, that way of doing things is especially inconvenient. It will probably never be relevant to me but I also hope this comes to the West.

The only two Switch games I\'m interested in so far are Mario X-Com and Yoshi, while the latter one isn\'t even out yet.

Splatoon 2 has no offline splitscreen co-op, so it\'s worthless to me. Mario Odyssey\'s gameplay is way too bloated and padded (I feel like I\'d have way, way less fun with it than I had with Mario 3D World and 3D Land), and while I have bought and played several Zelda games over the years, I haven\'t enjoyed a single one of them. Weapon degradation has to be one of the worst gameplay mechanics there is.

I\'ve already played Mario Kart 8 for 50 hours on Wii U, beat Captain Toad on Wii U; the prospect of a portable Stardew Valley is very alluring to me, but the game is coming out on PS Vita next week, so

After playing Xenoblade X (the OST, story, characters are garbage tier) I don\'t feel like playing another game in that franchise; I already have several Kirby games and have no urge to play any of them since I consider them to be simply not fun

I loathed Donkey Kong Returns + Tropical Freeze on Wii and Wii U so I\'m not buying the game again just for an easy mode.

Arms, Labo, Mario Tennis Aces, Just Dance, Snipperclips and Fire Emblem are 100% unappealing to me.

Lega Ninjago is supposedly a rushed bug ridden glitchfest.

Hyrule Warriors is shit - hated it on Wii U

I loved Lego City Undercover on Wii U and 3DS, beat them both, have no inclination to buy them again.

Already beat Rayman Legends (on of my top 10 games of all time), hated yet still beat Bayonetta 1 and 2, completed LA Noire and Skyrim on Xbox 360 years ago and also have no urge to revisit them.

Husky Wing See, Sony's reaching my minimum with non-PC games only. That's a fuckin talent right there.

nodley Green And that's why Sony is killing this gen.

I didn't want to get one.

Well, I got one anyway because one of my online friends apparently has way too much money (yes, I got one for free, with two games included even). It's... alright. Meh. Actually it's very bare bones. And it has a weak WiFi module. And shutting this thing down is annoying (you have to get up, push and hold the power button for 3 seconds, then choose "power options" and then "shutdown"). Holding the Joy-Cons sideways is very uncomfortable. The most comfortable position (at least for me) is holding the Joy-Cons separate without the wrist straps.

Super Mario Odyssey is great. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is just a 1080p version with minor fixes. Golf Story is pretty good. And that's about it.

I'm still angry over these useless gimmicks. Nintendo should have put more effort into the online infrastructure, operating system and hardware power. The fact that this is both a portable and a stationary console is gimmick enough. Nobody cares about motion controls, IR sensors, HD rumble and all that shit that simply drives up the cost. I also hate Nintendo's pricing. The docking station is just a piece of plastic that will set you back 80 bucks. Games are generally more expensive. The controllers are outrageously expensive and you even have to buy separate parts (like the wrist straps, if you need them). And don't even get me started on Nintendo Cardboard.

nodley Green Eventually even the fanboys will see what Sony offer and jump ship. Nintendo should just make games now.

So apparently I missed how the Switch's TV-out tech has already been cracked. Nyko's coming out with its own mini dock this October, but you can already buy a Chromecast-looking solution from China right now:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/NEW-Docking-Station-for-Switch-USB-C-Multipoint-Adapter-Type-c-Transfer-To-HDMI-Adapter-Hub/32815354357.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.267.DECc9U

It's pricey, though. Like 50 bucks including shipping. But if I was in the market for a second dock, I'd certainly pick one of those over a needlessly bloated official Nintendo dock.

However, since I don't need an additional dock other than for portability, I just ordered this mini dock shell for 10 bucks so I can transplant the hardware from the original:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Portable-DIY-Replacement-Dock-Mount-Case-with-Type-C-HDMI-USB-Jack-Incision-without-Electronics-for/32815921107.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.uKEqSB

Now, if you wanna keep the original hardware intact but find the docking procedure inconvenient, you can also buy a special USB-C extension cable with a large block on the end to keep it sitting snug inside the official dock:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Dealonow-1-0m-TYPE-C-3-1-Dock-charger-Extender-Cable-for-Nintendo-switch/32815964562.html?spm=2114.10010108.0.0.fvAbXZ&traffic_analysisId=recommend_2049_18_83258_iswiall&scm=1007.12908.83258.0&pvid=d6e93477-df62-4e7f-87fe-76292af604d2&tpp=1

That'll cost ya 7 bucks. And if you still want a stand to display your Switch, any kind of tablet/phone stand with space for the USB-C port will do just fine, but there's also passive docks that can serve as either charging docks, or as TV-out docks when connected to the original dock using a USB-C extension cable. Like this one right here for 8 bucks:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/DATA-NEW-Best-Price-Charging-Station-Charging-Dock-Cradle-Stand-for-Nintendo-Switch-with-LED-Charging/32802502189.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.399.tcswkH

So lot's of different options, all of them better than Nintendo's official dock. I mean, look at how small they've managed to make it (and that's including USB ports which I don't even need). Clearly it was designed this way to establish the Switch's identity as a console you can take on the go, rather than a handheld with a TV-out port, which is what it actually is.

Splatterhouse 5 It's Splatoon in my household. My daughters can't get enough of Splatoon, and I find it a lot of fun myself. The Switch will actually be the earliest I've ever gotten a Nintendo console when Splatoon 2 gets released next month.

I'll give Nintendo's E3 a 5/10. It sucked less than any Direct that I've watched before. Yoshi 2018, Kirby 2018 and Metroid Prime 4 seemed interesting.
Nintendo still has to announce 6 more exclusive titles that I consider must-haves in addition to a hefty price-cut in order to convince me to buy a Switch. Plus I want more multiplayer games, like Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Soccer, Mario Baseball, Mario Party... with extensive online modes.

rockshard PhD And if it can make me breakfast, that would be a plus.
