There's a good reason why Itagaki's classic has already seen 3 additional iterations since its original release, 8 years ago. Ninja Gaiden is unquestionably one of the finest made action games to ever grace the medium that shows no signs of aging in its gameplay and overall game design. It's a complete package in which everything ties together so masterfully that it never ceases to impress. A must play for all fans of the genre and games in general.
Pros: Fantastic combat and movement, masterful blend of combat, platforming, puzzles and exploration, outstanding level and game design, excellent boss fights, a technical showcase at its time of release that still holds up well thanks to its great visual style, surprisingly atmospheric as well as energetic thanks to its excellent soundtrack, all weapons are useful and fun to use, meaty campaign, satisfying sound effects, excellent enemy variety
Cons: A couple of Ryu's chapters (and all of Rachel's Sigma chapters) are kinda pointless and serve as nothing but filler in this already long adventure, camera can be a bit tricky, lackluster Vita port

The first 3D Ninja Gaiden taught me to accept that some games are never fair. The speed and intensity of the action in this adventure is relentless. However, every action sequence was well worth playing through, just to see if I could actually survive. The girls also have big boobs. The game's thrilling combination of blood, violence and boobs makes for an addictive, intoxicating experience. Believe me, people have to play it for themselves to actually understand the fun of the new Ninja Gaiden.

I love this game because while it brings back a series I love, a trope of this series was to have high demand from the players mind and reflexes. With that trope being introduced into the 3D hack-slash game market, it also became a breathe of fresh air, this game ditches the common tropes of its competitors and because of this, the combat rewards those who patiently wait for openings, thinking defensively and remembering different moves to use and if you die, it is your fault, you have to prove yourself to be a Ninja and I love it. While the only complaint is that it kind of has a cheap camera and it's brutal manual save system, its very minor as a whole experience with a game that hasn't had its experience duplicated for me since.

NGB is a really hard game. Really hard. For me it's too hard. Don't get me wrong it's never unfair or something like that. It's just challenging. But it plays perfectly and the only thing that sucks is the camera.
