The protagonist is just a name and a generic tragic backstory attached to a ghost that is cooler than he is. You have way too many powerful abilities at the start of the game. You even automatically slow down time when you draw your bow. You should have to work to unlock that shit! The enemies have no spacial awareness, making stealth insanely easy. Also, did I just get points for DYING? The game really seems to try to reward you for everything humanly possible to make sure you don't stop playing. I can see the developers reading off of a HOW TO MAKE MONEY chart. Even phone games feel less manipulative.

Shadow of Mordor runs at 4K/60fps on PS4 Pro!
    Except, wait

GameSpot encoded the video at 60fps, and hoped nobody would notice that we're seeing 30fps gameplay.
It's only being upscaled to 4K, as well--not even running it natively. There's practically no upgrade.

Editing … 4K would just offer more pixels, and a sharper, more detailed image (moreso if it weren't using the checkerboard technique, however that will still be sharper than 1080p). 60fps would offer twice the frames, giving you a faster reaction time to what occurs onscreen, as well as a smoother experience. If you watch 60fps and 30fps footage side by side, the lower framerate will appear choppy (on its own it's decent, so long as it's a constant 30. It's playable)

Editing … When people get too used to 60fps games, 30fps can make them feel sick. It's nice having a smoother experience, feels closer to life (where we don't even see frames, because our eyes aren't shutters)

Editing … Oh you know what, that's probably natural. It's like watching The Hobbit in 48fps for the first time. But very soon, the smoother, more natural, more realistic movement made the movie so much better, and now I really, really fucking want the 48fps version to get a home release.

Editing … I'm really enjoying it. The #Nemesis System is the selling point for me. If you get it, play on PC, PS4 or Xbox One. The PS3/360 version really tones down the nemesis system, and I can't imagine that'd be much fun.

Got the GOTY edition on sale, it's well worth the €20 I paid for it. It reminded me of Kingdoms of Amalur and how much more I enjoyed playing that game over this. Still if you find it on sale, don't hesitate to get it, you'll have fun for about 30 hours.

Roaming around mordor, hunting down orcs one by one, riding caragors like mean ass ferrari was some of the points make this game feels great. One of the plus points were the nemesis system, a system where it was crafted so beauitfully that it would generates orc captain to fear more of your doom. I really cant wait for a nemesis system 2.0, i bet it would be a revolution. Also another + point was when you face a warchief and the background would repeat its name like ''Tomhunt, Tomhunt Tomhunt'' in the background when your in a duel with him. Well, my ''Tomhunt'' was a mean ass reaching legendary status and I must say it's such a good experience when i finally end his life on a stick. I really can't wait what monolith have installed for the nemesis 2.0 (if its happening) :)

Just bought this at half price on PSN, as part of the Black Friday sale. I probably won't start it for quite a while yet, though, because Inquisition could take me forever to finish, so starting another potentially long game now would be a dumb idea. Looks great, though.

I was positive that the Nemesis system wouldn't live up to the sky-high expectations that the devs themselves have set up and yet, judging by the reviews they did just that! Kudos to Monolith for taking such a serious risk and in the end actually pulling it off!

Editing … Im surprised theyre even releasing last gen versions without the nemesis system, its a pretty solid game but nothing special without it. I love watching the orcs getting on with their day just pottering about with some pretty crazy AI, glad to see developers using the new consoles in this way, next-gen needs to be more than higher resolutions and frame rate

Editing … Hmm i had to go back and listen to this weeks giant bombast because that's where i heard it! Im not entirely sure whether the 'nemesis system' refers to the whole hierarchy system or just the advanced AI, but they said "does not include the nemesis system" and people should "wait for an opportunity to play the true version". I cant find any recent information on it, so hopefully people arent mislead by current-gen reviews. I can imagine it being a pretty decent open world game, even if its just the scripted yellow/red/white and collectable missions
