Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Japanese: メタルギアソリッド3 スネークイーター, Hepburn: Metaru Gia Soriddo Surī Sunēku Ītā, commonly abbreviated as MGS3) is an action-adventure stealth video game directed by Hideo Kojima. Snake Eater was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami for the PlayStation 2, and was released on November 17, 2004 in North America; December 16, 2004 in Japan; March 4, 2005 in Europe; and on March 17, 2005 in Australia. The game, which serves as a prequel to the entire Metal Gear series, was followed by four direct sequels titled Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.       Editing … I have a similar view. I reckon, this hardly will be better than the original. New viewing angles and (necessarily) slightly different controls inevitably means altered gameplay, in some yet unknown details. And I am worried that the "Delta" is after "MGS" rather than "Snake Eater" … as if they're already planning to remake each game. — But that being said, with *this* level of high fidelity, I'd be lying if I was saying I wouldn't follow the news on this. I'm most excited to see EVA, obviously.

      Editing … I feel like I should be interested but I'm not. Might be giving Kojima too much credit but I feel like a complete remake is gonna lose some of the cinematic nuance of color correction, framing, and lighting. I just got the HD Collection in the mail and that's enough for me. Just some slightly better resolution and ease of access on my PS5 is all I'm asking for.

    Aside from the frustrating new "stalking" technique that no one will ever use (press the D-pad to sneak up to a guard without making a sound), this game feels really easy. Either that, or I'm too used to MGS1 tactics.

    Aww...I still wish that this game kept the dog tag collecting contest. And now I have to use the D-pad to move close to soldiers. Oh well. Let's still make these soldiers shake their booty.

      Editing … It's probably because of the apocalyptic factor. It's an apocalypse, but with our own kind being turned to a rabid form of cannibalism. Or maybe the horror is that they're walking corpses, that scares people, I think. The shambling dead is all like, "oh man, all these people who used to be people are so dead, they can't even walk properly." Then the rage zombies are like, "oh fuck it's mad cannibals who will stop at nothing to ingest my innards."

      Editing … I actually just like the idea of them transforming all their victims. It's the same reason I like vampires, and why I found the Doctor Who episode #The Empty Child fun. With every victim, their ranks increase. It makes them more scary that way.

    A cinematic (cinematic gaming done right) epic with spies, jungles, motorcycle chases and REALLY old snipers. The ending proves that video games can create moments that just aren't possible in any other medium.
