I spent my day in what is without a doubt the shittiest city in Massachusetts.
I took an over-an-hour-long bus ride, which had me pass through this setting's sister city in shittiness, in which I pulled out my cellular telephone and caught my first Pokemon. It was Pikachu. I knew how to get my starter.
Bus arrives at the worst fucking bus station I've ever been to, I hate everything about this place--I refer to the city, not just the station. It smells shit, it looks shit, how the fuck can sidewalks be in such disrepair, why are there grates in the ground simply for me to view trash below my feet, why are there only 30 cars driving on the street, and thousands parked beside them?
City was fucking hot, and it smelled like shit.
I realized I forgot quarters to pay for the local busses. Got change when I bought myself a drink, but they had few quarters, so it only covered one fare. Someone soon after asked me if I could help them with their fare. They had a sexy nose ring. They ended up boarding the same bus, so they succeeded in their endeavors.
Bus was crowded as all hell. It's the same bus company that operates in my town, except the city being the shithole that it is, they haven't made all the busses free.
To return to the station, I ask someone if they can make change for some bills, and they just tell me the fare is on them. Wew.
The wait for the bus took over an hour. According to the schedule, a bus should've come every 20 minutes. A lady across the street at the opposite stop would occasionally sing at a high volume. She waited an hour too, before her bus finally arrived. The place smelled like shit.
Remember how I said the bus took over an hour? That was only half of the truth. It never came. "Okay Google, give me directions to this city's shitty bus station." I followed the GPS for almost two hours, during which a wrinkled--but not very old, more like a heavy smoker--asked me for a quarter for her bus fare, followed by a man right behind her asking for a quarter to go drinking. I obliged for both, because why the fuck not. 30 minutes later a homeless man asked if I had any change, and I gave him the other two quarters. I arrived at the station at the perfect time to board the bus home. The station smelled like shit.
I've never felt such relief as when the bus finally pulled out. I watched the sun set, and was filled with glee--not for the sight, but because finally the day would grow cooler. The sunset was very colorful though, but we've all seen that. Across the sky was completely different. Pure milky white, an absence of variety. I liked it. That was nice.
When I neared home a child started making noise, the damned beast.

I caught three Pokemon in total.
Fuck the headache though jesus.

I fucking hate Springfield.
