The best JRPG ever made. The world is great and fun to explore. It's turn based combat DONE RIGHT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE TURN BASED COMBAT, PLAY THIS GAME! DAMN, THE COMBAT IS SO GOOD AND SATISFYING.

    Also has catchy music

Superstar Saga is outstanding for many reasons. The "Turn-Based Action-RPG" gameplay combined with combining the abilities of the two bros creates some of the most unique JRPG gameplay on the GBA. The game is a barrel of laughs, both poking fun at the oddities of the Mario universe and creating new characters and situations to chortle to. The graphics are some of the best in the Mario franchise, with expressive characters and a number of great animations.

Superstar Saga is ultimately a celebration of the Mario series that recognizes its absurdities while making the series greater than ever.

This is a great Game! The Story was filled with awesome, shocking and unforgetable moments! Even for not so RPG Gamers. This game is easy to pick up and play. This Game has also some sort of a huge Open World, something that the sequels keep missing somehow. A must buy Game!

The first RPG I beat down to a pulp (except Pokémon, of course). While I'm not a huge RPG guy, I can definitely see the appeal of the M&L games, and I thoroughly enjoyed SS all the way through. The story was absurd. Like, Slaughterhouse-Five absurd (if you get that, I love you). Yet the plot was filled with great moments that defined the M&L experience, such as Peach's bomb-dialog, Bowser's sex-change (that poor, poor Koopa...), and the incredible Fawful. If there was ever a video game equivalent of Gir from Invader Zim, it's Fawful. A great RPG system that allowed for more damage depending on the player's timing, and the best battle theme EVER! I never got tired of that majestic music. SS was an experience that I won't forget.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga puts its successors to shame. All the lovely animated sprites, colorful environments and the extreme big world which you can discover freely later in the game, the outstanding and yet unbeaten humour and the epic characters like Prince Peasley, Fawful and the Koopalings make this my favorite Mario RPG game. The battle system is easy but the enemies get stronger throughout the game, so you will need to gain experience points to level up. There are also many different items, locations and mini-games. Both the successors "Partners in Time" and "Bowser's Inside Story" don't reach the quality level of this all-time classic.
