I remember going to Best Buy and wanting to find a DS game that I was interested in. I grabbed some Spongebob game and I gave it to my dad to pay for it. But as I was walking away, I noticed something in the GBA isle. A Mario tennis game?! "WHAAAAAT?!" I asked myself. I quickly snatched a copy and because my dad had already payed for the Spongebob game, we had to switch the purchases. As a result, my dad saved money and I got an excellent sports game on the go. After the amazing Gamecube title, I thought this would be just another Mario tennis title, but the single-player mode and the RPG mechanics made this potentially barebones installment deeper and longer. Simply put, you can't go wrong with Mario Tennis.

Mario Tennis: Power Tour is a great combination of the RPG and sports genre. You'll need to gain experience points in order to make your player stronger when it comes to serve shots, smash shots and power shots. Though it doesn't reach the deep gameplay of Mario Golf: Advance Tour, it's still a very fun and sometimes challenging game. The graphics are similar to Mario Golf: Advance Tour. The soundtrack is great and the character roster is overwhelming. It's too bad that it doesn't feature the GBA-GC connectivity like in Mario Golf: Advance Tour and you also can't make your own tennis rackets as opposed to Mario Golf: Advance Tour where you can make your own golf clubs. But still, it's a very fun Tennis game and it is better than the GC version.
