Though poor as single-player experiences, the Mario Party games are generally reliable sources of multiplayer memories that last forever. Admittedly, many of these involve losing three friends in a single sitting, but you can always get more friends, right? Of the many entries in the series, MP2 gets listed here for a few reasons. Unlike some latter entries, which limited themselves by basing some of their minigames around conditional gimmicks, the N64 trilogy stuck to the typical controllers. Unlike the original and MP8, MP2 did not rely on minigames that made bad use of the controllers, be it overuse of the analog or motion controls. MP2 also had more minigames than the original, with many like Bumper Balls having more involved. The characters' board-specific costumes, a one-time feature, also made the game fairly charming. The game also has some of the better boards in the series.
